Data Analyst

Role overview

Peoples Bank is seeking a Data Analyst to safeguard the accuracy, consistency, and practical usability of bank data while turning it into insights that guide business decisions. In this role, you will work closely with business partners, analysts, and IT teams to build and maintain reports and dashboards, produce meaningful analysis, and support initiatives that depend on reliable data. You will also help monitor the quality of data in the warehouse, spot patterns and inconsistencies, and recommend actions that strengthen both strategic and day-to-day operations.

Work location and schedule

This position is based at Barkley Financial Center in Bellingham, WA, with a hybrid arrangement that includes working from home three days per week and being in the office the remaining days. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, for a total of 40 hours each week.

Primary responsibilities

• Maintain strong data quality by applying validation, monitoring, and quality assurance checks.
• Create, update, and improve reports and dashboards with tools such as Power BI, Axiom, and BIC.
• Study financial and operational information and translate findings into useful recommendations for leadership.
• Work with business teams to understand their reporting needs and deliver data solutions that are accurate and timely.
• Help build and support data pipelines and the structures behind them.
• Contribute to data integration work across multiple systems and applications.
• Review historical and forecast data to assist with planning and decision-making.
• Investigate data problems and coordinate with technical teams to correct inconsistencies.
• Record reporting rules, data definitions, and process documentation.
• Support cross-functional, data-focused projects as needed.
• Assist with budget-related and financial reporting tasks when required.

What the role requires

• A high school diploma, G.E.D., or an equivalent qualification.
• A bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a similar discipline is preferred.
• About 2 to 4 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or data management.
• Strong SQL skills along with familiarity with data structures or ETL concepts.
• Advanced command of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage several tasks at the same time.
• Comfort working independently with limited supervision, plus strong organization, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a professional, service-oriented approach.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for business settings.
• Professional conduct and a high level of discretion when handling confidential information.
• Ability to travel to other Peoples Bank locations and to off-site meetings or training as needed.

Compensation

The salary range for this role in Bellingham, WA is $28.03 to $42.04 per hour.
