Role Summary

The Data Manager role is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focused on managing the full data lifecycle across Shwra’s AI platform and legal services products. The position is responsible for ensuring that data is collected, ingested, cleaned, standardized, stored, and maintained so it can be reliably used for analytics, AI features, and product functionality. The role also involves shaping and enforcing data governance practices, access controls, and data quality standards while staying aligned with legal, regulatory, and privacy obligations.

What You’ll Handle

• Oversee how data moves through the organization, from collection and ingestion through cleaning, standardization, storage, and ongoing maintenance.
• Create and roll out policies for data governance, permissions, and quality control.
• Work closely with product, engineering, AI/ML, legal, and operations teams to identify data requirements and set priorities for data-related work.
• Support the launch of new product features and reporting needs by making sure the right data is available and structured correctly.
• Track and maintain data pipelines and databases, and resolve issues when they arise.
• Prepare and keep documentation up to date for data processes, systems, and standards.
• Continuously improve data workflows, tooling, and overall performance.

Required Background

• A solid foundation in data management, including practical experience with data modeling, data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, SQL, and at least one modern data platform or cloud environment.
• Hands-on knowledge of data governance and quality practices such as validation, lineage tracking, metadata handling, access controls, and privacy/security compliance.
• Ability to work with large datasets, use reporting or BI tools, perform basic data analysis or scripting in Python, R, or similar tools, and build dashboards or operational reports.
• Strong process and project coordination skills, including requirements gathering, documentation, stakeholder management, prioritization, and on-time delivery.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborating across product, engineering, AI/ML, legal, and operations functions and turning business needs into practical data requirements.
• A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or a related discipline; an advanced degree or certifications in data management, cloud, or governance are considered an advantage.
