Finance Analyst

Role overview

Join a leading Australian AI-enabled EdTech business and play a key role in improving, automating and expanding global financial reporting. This position offers broad exposure to senior leadership and the chance to contribute directly to commercial decisions across the company.

The business partners with universities and education providers across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, North America, the Middle East and other regions. Its focus is on ethical, research-backed academic support that helps improve student outcomes and strengthen learning validation.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain the reporting framework together with the Group Finance Controller and wider finance team.
• Prepare detailed monthly executive reporting for the Chief Finance & Strategy Officer, CEO and leadership team.
• Compile board-level papers covering finance, strategy and operations.
• Drive operational reporting across expenses, cash and KPIs to provide clear group-wide insights.
• Support the annual budget cycle by helping update and improve business models.
• Assist in the forecasting process and look for ways to make it more effective.
• Carry out ad hoc analysis, strategic support, 5-year planning and scenario modelling.
• Investigate key financial and operational metrics through deeper analysis when required.
• Prepare and present updates to managers and senior leaders.
• Build productive working relationships across Sales, Marketing, Product, Tech, Finance and other business areas.

Experience and skills needed

• 2 to 3 years of experience in financial analysis within accounting, banking, consulting, corporate finance or a comparable setting.
• Advanced capability in Excel and Google Sheets.
• Background in preparing financial reports and other corporate reporting materials.
• Commercial awareness with strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Strong attention to detail and a track record of producing polished, fact-based documents.
• Confident written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels and across multiple locations.

Preferred qualifications

Professional accounting or finance credentials such as CA, CPA, CFA, or an equivalent qualification are preferred. Experience using ERP or accounting systems is also desirable.

Compensation

The role offers a salary of $110,000 to $120,000 plus superannuation.
