Role overview
This position centers on running a Hilti Store and turning walk-in traffic and smaller field accounts into sales opportunities. The role combines retail operations, product promotion, hands-on customer support, and relationship building with construction professionals. You’ll help customers choose the right solutions, demonstrate products, and support a business model focused on productivity, safety, and sustainability.
Key responsibilities
- Promote, service, and sell the complete Hilti product range to walk-in customers and smaller field accounts, while finding fresh ways to increase sales through merchandising and product demonstrations.
- Study shipping paperwork and sales patterns, then correct issues so the store keeps the right inventory levels on hand.
- Record receipts, payouts, and returned materials, and review replenishment suggestions to keep stock flowing properly.
- Speed up customer backorders and switch orders to locations that best meet delivery needs using the most economical shipping method.
- Complete opening, closing, and annual physical inventory reconciliations for the store.
- Check cycle counts, backorders, unconfirmed orders, and manual stock status entries to keep inventory accurate and consistent.
- Keep the sales floor, workspaces, and assigned equipment clean, orderly, and in good condition.
- Take on other duties as needed.
Candidate profile
- The role cannot be supported with employer-sponsored work authorization or visa sponsorship of any kind, so applicants must already be legally allowed to work in Canada when they apply and must stay authorized for the full employment period without sponsorship.
- A high school diploma or GED is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred, or an equivalent mix of education and work experience.
- Prior experience in customer service and/or sales is an asset.
- You should be comfortable leading change and working effectively in a fast-moving, changing environment.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation abilities are needed.
- You should be motivated to build durable, long-term customer relationships.
- Willingness to relocate within 18 to 24 months is required.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation package with potential bonus earnings for strong performance.
- Medical and dental coverage.
- Generous paid time off, including 2 days dedicated to volunteering in your community.
- Educational reimbursement support.
- Health and wellness days.
Work environment and conditions
The job includes a mix of retail store work, practical training exercises, meetings, workshops, and presentations. Some travel may be necessary, including sales visits to customer offices and job sites.
Safety, site conditions, and physical demands
- Training may involve using power tools in simulated jobsite settings.
- The role can require walking on construction sites and uneven ground, plus climbing scaffolding, ladders, and stairs in all seasons.
- Job sites may involve very loud noise levels; hearing protection is strongly recommended and may be required in some locations.
- Required protective gear includes a hardhat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and long pants when working on job sites.
- You must follow all applicable safety rules from Hilti, OSHA, and general contractors.
- The role requires the ability to walk construction projects, climb scaffolding, and lift and carry up to 65 pounds of Hilti products.
