Priority is given to internal applicants first. Candidates with agricultural or production experience are preferred. Applicants must live in the United States to be considered for an interview.

To qualify, applicants need at least 12 consecutive months of work history with one employer and no employment gaps longer than 6 months within the past 36 months. If the gap was due to layoff or caregiving for a child or elder, the allowed gap extends to 18 months. This work-history requirement does not apply to people who have been full-time students continuously for the last 36 months.

Rehire eligibility requires a minimum waiting period of 180 days, and no individual may have worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods more than 3 times.

Biosecurity, Safety, and Physical Requirements

The jobsite is biosecure, so employees must shower and change clothing and footwear before entering. The company provides suitable clothing and footwear. Jewelry is restricted, except for medical ID jewelry, and piercings must be covered by appropriate clothing. Employees must agree to avoid avian species such as chickens, ducks, and birds, and must follow the company’s biosecurity and animal welfare rules.

The role requires safe lifting practices and the ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds. It also involves frequent bending, stooping, and reaching overhead, along with standing for most of the shift on a concrete floor. Work includes walking, handling tools and objects, balancing, and communicating verbally. Vision needs include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, plus the ability to adjust focus.

Work conditions can include wet and slippery surfaces as well as hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments. Tools and equipment used may include a broom, mop, squeegee, washer, and dryer. PPE may include chemical or rubber gloves, ear plugs, and NIOSH-approved N95 respirators as needed. Common chemicals used include chlorine bleach, household cleaners, and disinfectants. Safety compliance is expected at all times, including adherence to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO, and PPE procedures.
