Role overview

Wood is looking for a Lead Quality & Inspection Plant to join its projects business. This position supports the development of a new gold mine and processing facility at a remote location in Saudi Arabia.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee quality activities across the full scope of the organization and the services delivered.
  • Identify and engage with important stakeholders on a regular basis to strengthen quality management and collect performance feedback.
  • Help plan and allocate resources, including people and budgets, to meet agreed objectives and deliverables.
  • Roll out the Wood Business Management System (BMS) across the organization, ensure it is applied effectively, and monitor, assess, and improve compliance. Support external BMS certification where needed.
  • Ensure quality support tools and processes are used consistently across the organization, including NCRs, improvement actions, and lessons learned.
  • Contribute to tender and proposal work for the organization.
  • Plan and carry out risk-based assurance activities, and escalate significant findings to programme or project leaders.
  • Track and review delivery performance data, report key patterns and trends to senior leadership, and take intervention measures where required.
  • Support supply chain processes to help ensure products and services are delivered right the first time.
  • Collect customer feedback and act on it to protect and improve customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and experience

  • A degree or diploma, or local equivalent, in quality management, project management, or a related field is preferred.
  • A Lead Auditor qualification from a recognised industry body is required.
  • Membership in CQI/ASQ, the Project Management Institute, or a similar professional body is preferred.
  • Formal training in recognised root cause analysis methods is required.
  • More than 10 years of relevant experience is expected, ideally within the related industry.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and other relevant industry standards is required.
  • Ability to analyse processes and data effectively.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
