Manager (Analysis & Research)

Role overview

You will join a team focused on tracking emerging and disruptive technologies, while also shaping practical working processes that support the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).

Key responsibilities

• Carry out in-depth research and analysis on new technologies to inform strategic and operational planning.
• Track developments across the global defence technology environment and related ecosystems.
• Develop and keep updated a repository of technology intelligence and trend information.
• Combine information from varied sources into clear, timely, and relevant assessments for decision-makers.
• Help design work methods that improve collaboration and information sharing within the Defence Tech Community.

Challenges in the role

• Evaluating geopolitical shifts, strategic priorities, and the complex regulatory and ecosystem factors that shape the defence sector.
• Processing large volumes of information into coherent insights, including translating technical findings into operational and strategic implications for reports and presentations.
• Managing work independently while coordinating with multiple stakeholders across the Defence Tech Community and other planning and operations teams.

What the team is looking for

We are looking for someone with a background in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or another related technology discipline. Prior exposure to planning or project management is an advantage. You should be a strong analyst and communicator, with a genuine interest in current political, geopolitical, defence, and security developments in Singapore. Fresh applicants without experience may also be considered. Compensation will depend on your experience. Only candidates selected for the next stage will be contacted.
