Overview
A major construction project is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to take charge of commercial and cost management activities across assigned works. The role focuses on controlling project spending, handling contracts, and supporting successful project delivery within budget and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying (BSc QS) is the primary qualification.
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or another closely related construction field may also be considered.
- A master’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Project Management, or a similar discipline is preferred.
- Professional membership or qualification from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Institute of Building, or an equivalent recognized body is an added advantage.
- Additional credentials in contract management, commercial management, or project management are desirable.
- Candidates with MRICS certification will be given strong preference.
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all quantity surveying functions across the assigned project scope.
- Develop cost plans, estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
- Assess and compare pricing submissions from contractors and subcontractors.
- Track project expenditure and keep the work aligned with approved budgets.
- Prepare and approve progress claims, variation assessments, and final account settlements.
- Manage contract administration and ensure contractual obligations are properly followed.
- Identify project risks and propose practical measures to control costs.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
- Produce financial statements, cost projections, and project status reports.
- Handle commercial and contractual disputes during execution.
- Guide and mentor quantity surveying team members and encourage their development.
- Make sure all work complies with company procedures, industry practices, and project specifications.

- The selected candidate must have a valid Iqama with at least 3 months remaining through 2026.
