Role overviewAs a Manufacturing Line Operator for the motor line within EPS Mobility, you will be responsible for operating and observing equipment used in EV traction motor production. The work covers processes such as winding, forming, welding, impregnation, rotor assembly, final assembly, and end-of-line testing. The role requires disciplined adherence to standard methods, strong focus on safety, consistent quality control, and steady achievement of daily output goals.Safety and workplace disciplineComply with all EHS requirements, including PPE usage, machine guarding, lockout/tagout practices where applicable, safe handling of chemicals and resins, and secure use of high-voltage test equipment.Take part in daily safety talks and promptly escalate hazards, unsafe behavior, and near-miss incidents.Keep the work area tidy and orderly in line with 5S and housekeeping expectations.Production operations and process executionDepending on the assigned station—Stator, Rotor, Assembly, or EOL—you may perform the following tasks:For stator production, run equipment for lamination stacking or interlocking, hairpin or conventional winding, forming, laser welding, insulation placement, and impregnation or curing.For rotor production, operate assembly equipment for magnet loading, shaft insertion, press fitting, and balancing, while handling magnets safely with fixtures and verifying polarity.For final motor assembly, fit housings, bearings, shafts, cooling jackets, and sensors using torque tools, jigs, and fixtures.For end-of-line testing, operate testing equipment to check electrical performance, vibration, noise, insulation resistance, hipot, and partial discharge.Quality and documentationWork according to the control plan, standard work instructions, and inspection procedures.Carry out visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using gauges, calipers, micrometers, torque tools, and checklists.Record production information in MES or production sheets and maintain complete traceability.Raise any quality deviation to the supervisor or quality team using stop-call-wait discipline.Equipment handling and basic maintenancePerform autonomous maintenance activities such as cleaning, lubrication, and routine checks as listed in CIL sheets.Spot machine issues such as unusual noise, vibration, tool wear, or temperature increase.Assist the maintenance team with troubleshooting and ensuring the equipment is ready for use.Throughput and productivityAchieve daily targets for output, cycle time, and first-pass yield.Maintain the required pace and respond quickly to Andon calls.Help minimize downtime by following proper start-up, changeover, and shutdown procedures.QualificationsA Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related discipline is required. The role expects 1 to 4 years of manufacturing experience, along with the ability to read basic mechanical drawings, torque charts, and work instructions.
