Role Overview

We are hiring a payroll professional who is organized, accurate, and comfortable working in a hands-on office environment in Bentley, Alberta. This is a full-time opportunity with a family-focused start-up that values reliability and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run payroll processing accurately and within scheduled deadlines.
  • Keep employee payroll information up to date and ensure records remain accurate.
  • Work out and process deductions, employee benefits, vacation pay, and required statutory remittances.
  • Generate payroll summaries and carry out reconciliation work.
  • Make sure payroll activities follow federal and provincial legislation and employment standards.
  • Handle employee questions about payroll in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support year-end payroll tasks, including preparation of T4 slips.
  • Coordinate with accounting and administrative team members as needed.
  • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable as they are received.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 to 5 years of payroll experience is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Sage 50 Payroll is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian payroll rules and employment standards.
  • High level of accuracy and strong organizational ability.
  • Good working knowledge of computers, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be able to handle sensitive information confidentially and discreetly.
  • Payroll certification such as PCP is considered an advantage, but it is not essential.
