Role Overview
Ottimate is hiring a Product Manager to take full ownership of a clearly defined area of the platform, guiding it from early discovery through release and ongoing improvement. The role is centered on working directly with customers, identifying the most meaningful problems, and collaborating closely with engineering and design to deliver measurable outcomes for finance teams.
You will be working on an AI-driven accounts payable automation and payments platform used by mid-market, multi-location businesses in hospitality, healthcare, grocery, retail, and client accounting services. The company is backed by private equity and is expanding quickly toward more autonomous finance workflows, making this a strong opportunity to have broad impact early.
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Director of Product Management.
Location
The preferred option is for candidates based in Kansas City, Missouri, with a hybrid working arrangement. As a second option, candidates anywhere in the United States may be considered for a fully remote role.
What You Will Do
- Take end-to-end ownership of the roadmap, backlog, and business outcomes for your product area, working in close partnership with engineering and design.
- Lead discovery by speaking with customers and internal teams, analyzing product data, and shaping that input into clearly defined problems and actionable requirements.
- Create concise specifications and user stories, while handling day-to-day prioritization and making thoughtful trade-off decisions.
- Partner with engineering throughout the delivery process to keep work moving, remove blockers, and stay focused on results rather than output alone.
- Establish success metrics for shipped work, instrument the relevant data, and communicate performance transparently.
- Collaborate with customer success, support, and sales to understand how the product area performs in practice and where improvements are needed.
- Bring customer-backed ideas into broader product strategy discussions.
What We Are Looking For
- At least 2 years of product management experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or other workflow-intensive products.
- A strong habit of speaking with users and making decisions based on evidence rather than assumptions.
- Comfort with data analysis and using metrics to understand behavior and evaluate impact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to align engineers, designers, and other stakeholders around a plan.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and a strong ownership mindset focused on outcomes.
Preferred Background
- Experience in fintech, AP/AR, ERP, accounting, or similar finance-adjacent products.
- Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled product features and how to evaluate them from a product perspective.
- Exposure to complex operational environments or customers with multiple locations.
Success in the Role
Within the first year, you should fully own your product area, launch improvements that customers notice and that show measurable gains, and build the credibility to take on additional responsibility.
Compensation and Benefits
The listed salary range is USD 100,000 to 130,000 per year.
- Medical, dental, vision, and other employer-subsidized benefits for employees and their families
- Employer-sponsored 401(k) plan with company match
- Paid time off, along with encouragement to actually use it
- Annual company retreats
- Opportunity to grow internally through a promote-from-within approach

- The role offers room to tackle hard problems creatively, explore work that motivates you, and keep developing through strong internal support.
