Role Overview
The Production Supervisor will report to the Production Manager and lead a team of hourly plant production employees at the rendering facility in Dundas, Ontario. The role centers on safe operations, product quality, efficient use of resources, and staff development. This position works rotating shifts.
Schedule
Rotating shift schedule across days, afternoons, and nights.
Key Responsibilities
The supervisor will foster a productive and respectful workplace, guide hourly production staff, and support their growth through coaching and training. The role also includes taking a leadership role in health and safety planning, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and food safety standards, tracking production performance, leading assigned projects, driving continuous improvement, supporting capital and operational enhancements, facilitating team meetings and training sessions, maintaining strong working relationships across teams, and learning to operate production equipment when required. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
The preferred candidate brings 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing production setting. A post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, science, or another related technical discipline is considered an asset. The ideal applicant has experience leading with a collaborative approach, coaching and mentoring employees, working independently, and using initiative with a positive mindset. Strong organization, analysis, multitasking, computer proficiency, and communication skills are important. Experience with Microsoft Office is required, and familiarity with Oracle and Kronos is an added advantage. The role also calls for the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues across functions and facilities.
Benefits
