About the Organisation

Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) Kenya is a Christian-based organisation that connects local churches, volunteers, and community groups to support people facing hardship. Its purpose is to rally churches to bring practical transformation to people’s lives and communities in Christ’s name. The organisation envisions churches working together with a shared purpose, expressing their faith through meaningful service. By bringing people, churches, and resources together, Love INC Kenya aims to respond to urgent needs while also tackling the deeper causes of vulnerability through collaborative, long-term community change.

Role Purpose

The Programs & MEAL Manager is accountable for shaping, coordinating, and quality-assuring programmes across all zones, while also building and maintaining a strong Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) system. This position serves as the main liaison with church partners on programme delivery and functions as Deputy National Director under delegation from the National Director. The role works closely with Zonal Coordinators to make sure programme delivery remains consistent with the organisation’s mission, strategy, and Missional Integrity Indicators.

Programme Design and Management

  • Take the lead in designing, planning, and rolling out the organisation’s national programmes and initiatives.
  • Prepare yearly programme work plans and budgets together with the National Director.
  • Make sure all programmes fit the local context, reflect the mission, and respond to community priorities.
  • Hold quality standards across every zone and offer technical support to Zonal Coordinators.
  • Plan and coordinate the logistics and programme content for the annual Love INC Kenya National Gathering.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)

  • Create, strengthen, and keep improving the organisation’s MEAL framework, tools, and systems.
  • Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting across all zones.
  • Prepare regular progress updates for the National Director and NGB.
  • Carry out periodic reviews and evaluations to measure effectiveness and impact.
  • Promote organisational learning by circulating insights, best practices, and lessons learned between zones.
  • Ensure all zones follow Love INC key performance indicators and Missional Integrity Indicators.

Zonal Support and Coordination

  • Provide matrix oversight and specialist support to Zonal Coordinators on programme implementation.
  • Visit zones regularly to assess delivery quality and provide on-the-ground mentoring.
  • Encourage collaboration and shared learning across zones through networks, forums, and resource sharing.
  • Work with the Zonal Governing Board through the ND/SG on programme matters that need board input or decisions.

Support to the National Director

  • Serve as the National Director’s principal assistant through formal delegation, within clearly documented authority limits.
  • Support the National Director in internal and external engagements as needed and help ensure continuity in leadership and operations.
  • Take part in succession planning and leadership development as part of the organisation’s continuity plan.

Team Leadership

  • Directly manage the Programme Assistant & Communications Officer.
  • Set clear expectations, carry out regular performance reviews, and provide coaching and professional growth support.
  • Build a team culture that is collaborative, accountable, and results-driven.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related discipline. A master’s degree will be considered an added advantage. The role requires at least 5 years of experience in programme management and MEAL within the nonprofit or development sector, plus a proven track record of creating and implementing MEAL systems. Experience with faith-based organisations or church networks is an advantage, and prior service in a deputy or acting leadership role in a similar organisation is desirable.

Skills and Attributes

The successful applicant must be a committed Christian who aligns with Love INC’s mission and values. Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, confidence with data management tools and platforms such as KoboToolbox, ODK, Excel, and Power BI, excellent report writing, strong communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness, and the ability to collaborate across teams are essential. The role also requires willingness to travel frequently within the country.

Application Requirements

Interested candidates are expected to submit a cover letter explaining how their qualifications, experience, and competencies match the requirements of the Programs and MEAL Manager role, together with an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
