Sales Associate

Role summary

The Sales Associate will act as the face of the brand in the store, helping drive sales through strong customer interaction, attentive service, and a polished retail experience. The role also covers store upkeep and visual merchandising tasks assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.

Customer service

• Welcome shoppers, understand their needs, and guide them toward suitable products.
• Turn casual browsers into buyers through effective in-store selling.
• Encourage repeat purchases by introducing the company’s Club Apparel Loyalty Program.
• Deliver service that follows the company’s GUEST selling approach: Greet, Understand, Explain, Sell, and Thank.
• Stay informed about the group’s brands so cross-selling and suggestive selling can be done well.

Presentation and product knowledge

• Maintain a neat, professional, and well-groomed appearance at all times.
• Keep product knowledge current and use it to improve customer guidance.
• Help reduce stock losses by staying alert and informed.
• Be prepared to work longer hours during sale periods when required.

Merchandising and store operations

• Arrange stock neatly and in line with standard layout requirements to attract customers.
• Follow visual merchandising instructions and clearance stock norms.
• Track inward and outward inventory movements and maintain accurate records.
• Operate the POS and billing counter efficiently.
• Count cash at the start and end of shifts and reconcile the till.
• Issue receipts, refunds, and change accurately.
• Process payments through cash, cards, vouchers, and automatic debit methods.
• Stay vigilant about store security and follow loss prevention and SOP guidelines.
• Keep sales figures confidential and do not share them with external parties.
• Be flexible to work different shifts and overtime based on business needs.

Additional working conditions

The role may require extended hours during promotional periods, varied shift schedules, and overtime depending on store requirements.
