About the Role
The Senior Contracts Manager will lead the management of contractual matters across a portfolio of power assets that are either operating or under construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee project agreements, including Power Purchase Agreements, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and other related project contracts, making sure all terms are followed and action items are flagged in time.
- Take ownership of the contractual side of assigned projects or portfolios, offering specialist input on risk, disputes, and compliance.
- Maintain strong understanding of Power Purchase Agreements, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and other project documents, and ensure stakeholders are managed in line with contractual obligations during both construction and operations.
- Handle communications with counterparties and protect the company’s commercial and contractual interests in all responses.
- Evaluate, draft, and support contractual claims, including extensions of time and cost claims, while aligning them with contract terms, evidence, and overall project strategy.
- Create and maintain contract checklists to identify risks and issues early, track them, and escalate them when needed.
- Work closely with senior leadership, finance teams, and legal teams to support business objectives.
- Set up and maintain procedures for awarding and administering project contracts.
- Serve as the primary contact for all insurance-related contractual matters.
- Perform additional responsibilities that fit the role, its scope, and grading as requested by management.
- Coordinate with teams across different assets and provide support on all contract-related matters.
- Work with legal experts when required and assist team members in handling contractual issues.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports for management review across the assets portfolio.
- Ensure adherence to ACWA policies, internal guidelines, audit requirements where applicable, and the highest standards of business ethics.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or construction law is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience with large, complex projects in utilities, energy, or oil and gas is required.
- At least 5 years of proven experience handling construction claims is required.
- Strong ability to manage multiple contract agreements simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of financial, commercial, and contractual matters.
- Capability to draft and issue contractual letters, notices, agreements, and amendments for various project agreements.
- Good grasp of contract law.
- Working knowledge of design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations and maintenance processes.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

This role is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia and is a full-time, onsite position.
