Position Summary
The Senior Data Analyst will help guide business decisions by building dependable reports, analyzing data, and documenting how systems and data structures are organized. The role works with clinical, operational, and financial information to turn data into clear, actionable insight while maintaining a strong understanding of how information moves between systems.
Success in this position depends on advanced SQL and Tableau skills, plus comfort working with complex relational datasets, including behavioral health EHR environments. A major part of the job is improving data clarity and consistency by recording data sources, reporting rules, and system relationships so analytics can scale more effectively across the organization.
This position partners with teams in Marketing, Customer Care, Finance, Clinical Operations, and IT to provide reporting and analysis that supports daily operations and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Create, update, and improve Tableau dashboards and reports for referral activity, intake performance, clinician productivity, and program-level metrics.
- Build and fine-tune SQL queries to pull, combine, and reshape data from complex relational databases.
- Deliver recurring and on-demand reports that support operational and strategic decisions.
- Check data for accuracy and consistency through validation and reconciliation steps.
Data Systems Documentation and Structure
- Record the current data landscape, including source systems, table layouts, field meanings, and how systems relate to one another.
- Keep documentation current for reporting logic, metric definitions, and calculation methods.
- Spot inconsistencies or structural gaps in data and raise improvement opportunities.
- Help build and maintain data dictionaries and internal reference materials.
Data Quality and Integrity
- Run routine audits to find missing values, mismatched records, or reporting discrepancies.
- Work with IT and operational partners to investigate and fix data quality issues.
- Make sure source data from systems such as EHR, CRM, and billing tools aligns with published reports.
Cross-Functional Support
- Partner with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and convert business questions into queries and visual outputs.
- Support multiple departments, including Marketing, Finance, Customer Care, and Clinical Operations, with analytics and data requests.
- Communicate findings clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
EHR and Data Environment Support
- Work with behavioral health EHR data to meet reporting and analysis needs.
- Assist with extracting and validating information from the EHR and connected systems.
- Build knowledge of workflows and data capture processes to improve reporting accuracy.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as data analytics, statistics, mathematics, health informatics, or a related field.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in data analysis or a similar role.
- Strong SQL expertise, including complex joins, aggregations, and data transformation.
- Hands-on experience creating dashboards and visualizations in Tableau or a comparable BI platform.
- Experience working with complex relational databases and multi-source data environments.
- Proven ability to document data systems, reporting logic, and workflows accurately and clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on data accuracy and integrity.
Preferred
- Background in healthcare or behavioral health settings.
- Exposure to EHR systems and healthcare data models.
- Working knowledge of basic financial and operational metrics in a service-based organization.
- Experience supporting cross-functional teams with reporting and analytics.
