Role Overview

This role is for a Senior Data Engineer focused on the pharma domain, with strong emphasis on BI and analytics solutions. The position involves moving comfortably between individual contribution, team collaboration, and data engineering responsibilities depending on project needs. The goal is to convert business data into useful insights that support stronger decisions.

What You Will Do

• Work with clients to understand their business environment and needs.
• Convert business requirements into technical specifications.
• Participate in designing BI solutions that can be built and deployed to solve complex challenges.
• Use Power BI to support and maintain data analytics platforms.
• Carry out unit testing and resolve technical issues.
• Write and run database queries for analysis.
• Build reports and visual dashboards that meet or exceed client expectations.
• Improve and enhance existing BI systems.
• Keep technical documentation current and accurate.
• Contribute to BI performance tuning and consumption analysis while understanding BI SLAs.
• Collaborate with peers to design innovative BI solutions.
• Coordinate with Data Science, Consulting, Engineering, and other stakeholders to deliver analytical solutions on time.

What We Are Looking For

• Strong pharma domain experience delivering end-to-end BI solutions using Tableau, Power BI, and Qlik.
• Practical experience with OLAP and OLTP data models, including dimensional modeling.
• Solid command of SQL and modern data management environments such as Synapse, Snowflake, and Redshift.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Hands-on familiarity with relational databases and flat-file processing.
• Comfort working in agile environments and a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Exposure to ETL tools and scripting languages will be an advantage.
• Ability to work closely with multiple stakeholders and take full ownership of deliverables.
• Practical exposure to security implementation in BI systems.
• Strong understanding of Tableau architecture and Tableau services/processes.
• Knowledge of REST API capabilities, embedded analytics, capacity planning, generative AI, and content metadata.
