Role Overview
An experienced ServiceNow Developer is needed to build and deliver advanced solutions on the ServiceNow platform, with a strong focus on App Engine and HRSD. This position blends deep technical delivery with a leadership component, including support and guidance for less experienced developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Take the lead in building and rolling out custom applications on ServiceNow App Engine.
- Coach and support junior team members from a technical standpoint.
- Architect and develop sophisticated workflows, business rules, and tailored applications.
- Define development standards and promote consistent engineering practices across the team.
- Review code submissions and maintain a high bar for solution quality.
- Investigate difficult technical problems and implement effective fixes.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation and knowledge articles.
- Contribute to architecture reviews and solution-design discussions.
Required Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in ServiceNow development and implementation.
- Minimum 3 years of direct, hands-on work with ServiceNow App Engine development and HRSD.
- Active ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Application Developer or Certified Implementation Specialist.
- Experience delivering at least 2 large-scale ServiceNow implementations.
- Strong command of JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and mentoring experience.
Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of App Engine Studio and App Engine Templates.
- Expert-level ServiceNow scripting with JavaScript.
- Solid understanding of platform capabilities and constraints.
- Hands-on experience with Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, Workflows, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and Service Portal development.
- Experience using source control and deployment tooling.
- Familiarity with REST and SOAP services, APIs, and integrations.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Ability to mentor junior developers and run technical training sessions.
- Strong capability in code review and quality assurance.
- Comfortable explaining complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.
- Experience estimating development effort and tracking technical deliverables.
Additional Requirements
- Exposure to Agile delivery practices.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working both independently and within a collaborative team.
- Experience producing technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience across multiple ServiceNow releases and platform upgrades.
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes and frameworks.
- Background in performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience applying ServiceNow governance and best practices.
- Additional technical certifications in relevant areas.
Platform Experience
The role may involve work across ServiceNow areas such as ITSM, CSM, HRSD, IRM, App Engine Studio, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.
