Site Engineer (MEP)

About the Role

Parsons is hiring a Site Engineer with an MEP background to support major rail, tram, and infrastructure projects in Qatar. The position focuses on managing on-site mechanical, electrical, and plumbing activities so that work is delivered safely, meets the required quality benchmarks, and stays aligned with approved designs, specifications, and timelines. The role involves close coordination with construction managers, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders to keep delivery on track.

Key Responsibilities

• Track and coordinate all MEP contractor activities happening on site.
• Prepare discipline-focused construction schedules, monitor execution, and share progress and schedule updates with the Construction Manager.
• Oversee procurement and delivery of materials to make sure site work is supported on time and in line with the project program.
• Check that delivered materials conform to project specifications and quality expectations.
• Carry out first-line quality checks to ensure MEP installations follow drawings, specifications, and accepted industry practices.
• Supervise MEP engineering work on site and provide technical direction to construction and survey teams.
• Make sure all required inspections and tests are completed, witnessed, and properly recorded as per approved procedures.
• Work with construction management to identify and reduce risks that could affect safety, health, or environmental conditions.
• Ensure the assigned team follows safe work methods and site safety procedures at all times.
• Coordinate with design engineering staff and, when needed, with third-party tenants and leaseholders across Doha Metro and Lusail Tram assets.
• Review drawings and specifications to confirm the latest revision is being used and the technical execution is correct.
• Resolve technical issues and help implement practical solutions directly on site.
• Maintain project records, including notices, back-charge documents, progress reports, and other required files.
• Compile data and documentation needed for final turnover packages and project completion reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related construction discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience after graduation on major rail, tram, or infrastructure projects, preferably in the GCC region.
• Proven experience leading and coordinating multi-discipline site teams.
• Strong understanding of MEP construction techniques, standards, and quality controls.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, solve problems effectively, and manage several work fronts at once.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Valid MME registration in Qatar is mandatory.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to Doha Metro, Lusail Tram, or similar rail/transit systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Qatar local authority requirements and standards related to MEP installations.
• Experience using planning, progress tracking, and reporting tools for construction projects.
• Strong organizational ability and attention to detail for documentation and project close-out work.
