Role overview
This full-time, on-site Store Driver position supports store and customer delivery operations in Havelock-Belmont-Methuen, Ontario. The role combines safe driving, parts delivery, customer interaction, inventory support, and store upkeep. It is intended for a newly created position rather than an existing opening.
What you will do
- Collect, prepare, and safely transport auto parts to professional customers.
- Handle return pickups and core returns.
- Distribute weekly and monthly sales flyers while highlighting active promotions and loyalty offers.
- Support the daily collection of credit accounts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers and share delivery-based insights with the CPP team.
- Help increase average order value by suggesting add-on and complementary products.
- Keep the store clean and presentable, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and the parking area.
- Assist with general stocking tasks such as truck unloading, back-stock organization, and cycle counts.
- Stay current on inventory and new product arrivals to better support sales.
- Welcome walk-in customers, understand what they need, and recommend suitable parts or services.
- Take on other duties as assigned.
Success factors
Success in this role depends on safe driving and navigation, comfort using the delivery board system, clear and persuasive communication, accurate parts location and stocking, solid safety awareness, familiarity with inventory and store equipment, and a customer-focused sales mindset. The ability to identify needs and offer practical solutions is also important.
Skills and job knowledge
You should be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; Spanish is an added advantage. You will need to read safety instructions, operating guides, parts catalogs, and procedural documents. Basic math skills are required for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. The schedule may include a mix of days, evenings, and weekends. Confidence in customer engagement, product promotion, and willingness to learn new products and selling techniques are important.
Preferred background
Prior experience in automotive parts is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Physical requirements and work environment
This job is physically active and involves frequent walking and standing. You must be able to speak and hear, handle materials with your hands and fingers, reach, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The role regularly involves lifting and moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance. Vision needs include close, distance, color, and depth perception, along with the ability to adjust focus. Work is usually indoors, but occasional outdoor work may be required in different weather conditions, including tasks such as battery and wiper blade installation. The environment may also expose you at times to moving machinery, heights, chemicals, electrical shock risk, explosives, and vibration. Noise levels are generally moderate.
Compensation
The expected pay range for this position is 17.60 CAD to 18.85 CAD per hour for a new team member. The final rate may vary based on location, retail experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership experience, relevant skills, and any shift differential that applies.
