Role overview
This is a remote-first UX design opportunity based in Germany, focused on improving how developers interact with software products used globally. You will work on technically complex tools and workflows, helping create experiences that are more intuitive, consistent, and efficient.
The role sits at the intersection of user-centered design and technical problem-solving. You will partner with product and engineering teams to shape solutions that support open-source technologies and enterprise-scale innovation.
Key responsibilities
- Create clear and effective user experiences for developer tools, with attention to usability, speed, and accessibility.
- Work closely with product managers and engineers to define, refine, and deliver smooth product experiences.
- Use user research and UX methods to address difficult technical design problems.
- Produce wireframes, prototypes, user journeys, and interaction concepts for products aimed at developers.
- Help improve and expand scalable design systems and established UX practices.
- Review complex software using UX heuristics and suggest practical enhancements.
- Support cross-functional efforts that improve consistency across products.
- Present and explain design choices to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in UX, design, STEM, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Solid understanding of UX fundamentals, interaction design, and user-centered design approaches.
- Experience in conducting user research and turning findings into product improvements.
- Strong interest in technology, developer tools, and complex software experiences.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with comfort working across different disciplines.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to tackle challenging design problems.
- Commitment to ongoing learning, innovation, and high-quality design work.
- A strong academic record is considered a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for company events.
