Company Overview

CFO Advisory and Accountancy is a modern finance and advisory practice that supports small and medium-sized businesses across Qatar and the GCC. The firm blends cloud-based accounting technology, automated workflows, and CPA-led Client Advisory Services, including virtual CFO support, to help expanding companies gain better visibility, tighter control, and stronger strategic direction. With a mix of data-led reporting and practical advisory support, the team works to lower costs, improve decisions, and help clients grow sustainably.

Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site position in Doha, Qatar. The Client Accountant will manage a portfolio of SME clients and ensure their accounting records remain accurate, current, and dependable. Most bookkeeping activity is automated through a portal and ERP-based system, and the focus of this role is to verify the completeness and correctness of the data, keep accounts well maintained, and serve as a prompt and professional contact for client enquiries. The position also involves close collaboration with the senior advisory team, including support for client meetings and reporting.

Key Duties

  • Oversee and maintain accounting records for a group of SME clients, making sure information processed through the platform is complete and correct.
  • Carry out and review bank reconciliations, and assist with monthly and annual closing activities.
  • Examine client financial information for accuracy and identify mismatches that need follow-up.
  • Draft financial statements and management reports for senior review.
  • Reply to client questions about accounts and reporting in a timely and courteous way.
  • Support senior advisors with preparation for monthly client meetings and with post-meeting follow-up.
  • Contribute to compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax rules, and internal control procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

The role calls for 2 to 3 years of professional accounting experience and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline. Candidates should be comfortable with reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, and period-end close processes. Experience using cloud-based ERP and accounting systems, along with strong Excel capability, is important. A sound understanding of accounting standards and internal controls is also required. The ideal candidate will be highly accurate, well organised, detail-oriented, and able to communicate clearly in both written and spoken English with a client-focused approach. Applicants should already be based in Doha or be willing to relocate there for on-site work. Holding a CMA certification, or working toward one, will be considered an advantage.
