About the Role
York Technical College is a public two-year college within the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education System. It offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates, and its mission is centered on student success as a driver of economic growth and development across York, Lancaster, and Chester counties, as well as the wider state.
What You’ll Do
- Support recruitment and outreach efforts by connecting with prospective students through campus visits, school visits, college fairs, information sessions, and virtual events, while serving as a key contact for new inquiries.
- Represent the college at outreach activities to build relationships with prospective students and community partners, including groups such as first-time college students, transfer students, and dual-enrollment students moving into the next stage.
- Coach applicants through admissions steps such as completing applications, establishing residency, and meeting placement requirements, while explaining academic programs, career options, and enrollment timelines.
- Help students move through enrollment by coordinating with Academic Advising, Financial Aid, the Registrar, and Academic Divisions on course selection, registration, and academic requirements.
- Monitor each student’s application and enrollment progress, then follow up to clear outstanding items and keep them on track toward registration.
- Communicate actively through phone, email, text, and CRM campaigns, ensuring questions are answered promptly and in a student-focused manner.
- Record student interactions and keep SIS and CRM data current, while working with Enrollment Communications to maintain clear and consistent messaging.
- Track recruitment, applications, and enrollment activity, analyze trends, and contribute information that supports admissions planning and reporting.
- Work with Academic Affairs, Student Services, and Marketing on recruitment and onboarding initiatives that support broader institutional goals.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- At least 3 years of recent experience in college admissions, recruitment, enrollment services, advising, or a closely related student-services area is needed.
- Applicants who list degrees on the application may be asked to submit unofficial transcripts during the hiring process and official transcripts after selection.
Preferred Qualifications
- A master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, Admissions Counseling, or a related field is preferred.
