Role overview

The Android Engineer will build and maintain applications for Android-powered devices, contributing to native mobile development in a collaborative product environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native Android applications using Java or Kotlin.
• Build smooth, high-performance user interfaces, including custom controls and visual components.
• Contribute to advanced visual and touch-based UI work using HTML5 and JavaScript when needed.
• Integrate and support SDKs and APIs within mobile applications.
• Work with Firebase SDK where required; experience with it is preferred but not mandatory.
• Investigate issues, troubleshoot defects, and support performance testing using debugging tools and Instruments.
• Handle native development tasks end to end.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and cross-disciplinary teams.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in mobile software development.
• A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
• Candidates with a diploma and equivalent hands-on experience may also be considered.
• A portfolio showcasing previous work and source code must be available.
• Ability to interpret design concepts and explain the approach used to prototype them.
• Self-driven, quick to learn, and strong at solving problems independently.
