Position Overview

A leading utility organization is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to help drive capital infrastructure work from early planning and development all the way through construction, commissioning, and final project closeout. The role partners closely with Project Managers and supports scheduling, budgeting, document control, contractor coordination, and project controls across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with daily project coordination and execution.
  • Contribute to planning, scheduling, budgeting, and ongoing cost monitoring.

  • Monitor milestones, deliverables, and outstanding action items.
  • Assist with defining scope, managing contractor paperwork, and handling procurement-related tasks.
  • Keep project files, reports, and controls data accurate and up to date.
  • Work across engineering, construction, environmental, supply chain, and operations teams.
  • Assist during construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout phases.
  • Support compliance records, safety documentation, and contractor onboarding.
  • Help prepare financial updates, forecasts, and project status reports.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 5 years of experience in project coordination, project controls, construction, engineering, utilities, or a similar field.
  • Well-developed organization, communication, and multitasking abilities.
  • Hands-on experience with schedules, budgets, and project documentation.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
