Role Overview

Brightcore Energy is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support the growth of its geothermal development team. Based out of Armonk, NY or Brooklyn, NY, this role contributes across office and field activities to help drive successful geothermal project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with project stakeholders to help prepare construction plans, budgets, and schedules that support project objectives.
  • Assist with field-based project coordination, including oversight of drilling work and subcontractor activity under the direction of the Construction Project Manager.
  • Help manage the subcontractor and vendor workflow, including sourcing, review, quotation, and onboarding.
  • Take ownership of permitting research, submission packages, and approval tracking.
  • Coordinate project tasks in monday.com across engineering, drilling, subcontractors, vendors, and construction leadership.
  • Set up and maintain Procore records such as daily reports, RFIs, invoice approvals, budgets, and change orders.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining the master project schedule.
  • Work with engineering teams to align design requirements with project specifications.
  • Support drilling operations by organizing work orders and arranging vendor-provided equipment rentals for site use.
  • Help coordinate construction activities for renewable energy projects, including both interior and exterior work.
  • Participate in supervising demolition, installation, renovation, and site preparation work.
  • Monitor construction quality, carry out regular site checks, and support quality control actions.
  • Help establish and enforce site preparation, infrastructure, and construction procedures that prioritize safety, timeliness, and quality.
  • Assist with allocating equipment, materials, and labor to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support adherence to safety and quality standards, as well as company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Help facilitate project meetings and communicate goals, expectations, and progress updates.
  • Track project costs and support budget reporting for senior leadership.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Construction Project Manager or as needed for the role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5+ years of project management experience that includes both field exposure and remote/office-based work in general construction.
  • Prior experience with geothermal heating and cooling systems is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of construction workflows, permitting, building codes, safety standards, subcontractor and vendor coordination, site supervision, and scheduling.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Working knowledge of regional technical standards, building regulations, codes, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to travel frequently to customer sites across New York and New Jersey.
  • Experience with Procore and monday.com is not mandatory, but it is a plus.

Work Hours and Travel

The role requires at least 30 hours per week to preserve full-time benefit eligibility, though the expected workload averages 40 hours weekly with overtime as scheduled. Travel may be needed up to 30% of the time to project sites in the greater Northeast region of the United States, and not limited to that area.
