Associate Buyer

Role overview

This position focuses on handling material purchase requests while making sure the sourcing process matches the required technical standards, pricing expectations, delivery timelines, and contractual terms. The role works under supervision and follows the organization’s purchasing policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Support the search and onboarding of new suppliers, working with the relevant category team and helping complete supplier qualification with Quality and Engineering specialists.
• Assist in discussions with key suppliers, refresh price lists and commercial terms when needed, and share suggestions for follow-up actions.
• Adapt the corporate contracting framework to suit local business needs and help ensure approved contract terms are followed during execution.
• Review and compare bids within scope to identify the best overall value.
• Provide market inputs to bid and proposal teams for the assigned area of responsibility.
• Monitor incoming goods to confirm deliveries are correct and support invoice processing according to the available guidelines.
• Track supplier performance across delivery, quality, and lead time, and help resolve or recommend fixes for performance issues.
• Create supply orders in the system, confirm deliveries with suppliers, and follow up on purchase order compliance.
• Ensure supplier orders match customer or project needs in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability, and cost, using ERP or SOP/project requirements.
• Carry out supply chain activities for goods and services in line with company policies and procedures.
• Keep the supplier relationship management platform updated as required under the applicable procedure.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, procedures, and standards.
• Work in line with the company’s core values of safety and integrity by taking ownership of actions and supporting colleagues and the business.

Candidate profile

• A graduate or postgraduate degree in any discipline is required.
• Relevant experience of 1 to 5 years is expected.
• Working knowledge of SAP, Ariba, and Microsoft Office tools is needed.
• Exposure to JAGGAER is preferred.
• The role calls for strong computer literacy, analytical thinking, and creativity.
• Good presentation ability and close attention to detail are important.
• Business understanding, decision-making, and problem-solving ability are required.
• Strong time management and organizational skills are needed.
• English proficiency, both spoken and written, is mandatory.

Work schedule

This is a night-shift position with working hours from 5:30 pm to 2:30 am.
