About the role
The Hoxton is preparing to open in Hamburg, marking the brand’s second hotel in Germany. The property will be part of the Alter Wall redevelopment and will include 188 rooms, a large lobby bar, a ground-floor restaurant, a rooftop dining venue, and The Apartment, the brand’s meeting and events concept. The business is hiring a Brand & PR Manager to help launch the hotel and establish it as a lively destination for guests, locals, media, and the wider city community.
What you will do
- Join the founding team responsible for introducing The Hoxton to Hamburg and helping the hotel, food and beverage venues, and event spaces become popular with local, national, and international audiences.
- Bring forward fresh ideas that support both brand positioning and business performance, making the hotel a sought-after place to work, dine, drink, relax, and socialise.
- Lead the local PR plan in partnership with the Head of Communications, keeping the property, its restaurants, bars, and event spaces visible to media and influencers, while also promoting other Hoxton locations to German press.
- Produce content and oversee local restaurant social media activity with guidance from the central communications team.
- Develop a strong community of Hox Friends, social influencers, local professionals, and opinion leaders who regularly talk about and visit the property.
- Create local partnerships and city activations that introduce the brand to new audiences and strengthen its position in a new market.
- Handle local communications, including email copy and content for The Localist editorial platform on the website.
- Support room and restaurant/bar revenue goals by working closely with the F&B, sales, and revenue teams on offers, campaigns, and packages.
- Take ownership of the guest journey across the hotel, food and beverage outlets, and The Apartment, ensuring each interaction reflects the brand and feels thoughtful and original.
- Manage local annual marketing and graphic design budgets with the General Manager, including planning, monitoring, and controlling spend.
- Write creative briefs for local collateral and campaigns for the central Ennismore design team.
What we are looking for
- A self-driven professional who can work independently and also enjoys a collaborative, social team environment.
- A creative marketer with a proven history of growing lifestyle brands and delivering commercial results in the German market.
- Broad experience across the marketing mix, with strong PR capability and a solid network of media contacts.
- The ability to arrange cultural collaborations and memorable events, while also using tactical marketing ideas to increase bookings and restaurant covers.
- Strong writing skills and the ability to manage local social channels and email databases as effective communication tools.
- Experience and connections in Hamburg’s food scene, with the ability to build excitement and reputation for a destination restaurant from morning to night.
- A well-developed personal network across local and international circles in areas such as art, design, fashion, music, tech, and wellness.
- Someone who works effectively with central teams, including graphic design, digital marketing, and communications.
- A bold, conceptual thinker who is willing to make original choices and encourage others to do the same.
- A personality that values authenticity, humility, teamwork, and trying new things.
