Role overview
This role covers several openings for Business Analysts who will support a range of strategic and operational initiatives across the organisation. The position blends high-level design, hands-on implementation, and day-to-day delivery to help improve processes, strengthen data-led decision-making, and achieve efficient programme outcomes.
The role can be based in London or Leeds, with office attendance required three days each week.
Business analysis and requirements
- Carry out detailed business analysis and define requirements in complex environments with many stakeholders.
- Capture, record, and confirm user needs for planning, governance, and operational systems.
- Lead discovery and analysis work for enterprise, corporate planning, and programme-focused initiatives.
- Convert strategic goals into functional requirements and data requirements.
- Create business models and data models that support outcome-based planning and performance tracking.
Process and operational improvement
- Review and redesign processes to improve efficiency, quality, and overall alignment.
- Perform in-depth analysis to support process enhancements, operational choices, and quick-win improvements.
- Apply structured improvement methods, including Six Sigma, to implement change.
- Recommend simplification or retirement of outdated systems and processes, such as API gateways and legacy files.
Programme and workstream delivery
- Organise, plan, and monitor detailed workstream tasks and deliverables.
- Help define scope and support prioritisation for programme delivery.
- Identify, maintain, and manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
- Run workshops, stakeholder sessions, and engagement meetings to gather input and validate solutions.
- Work flexibly within project and programme frameworks as business priorities evolve.
Digital tools and technical delivery
- Support migration of legacy files into modern architecture and help shape migration approaches.
- Assess the rollout of digital tools and software such as Power BI and M365, and help standardise delivery practices.
- Review and incorporate security controls throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Produce documentation including process maps, requirements artefacts, traceability matrices, RAID logs, management information, and progress reports.
Desirable experience
- Familiarity with Agile business analysis methods such as user story mapping, impact mapping, and MoSCoW prioritisation.
- BCS Business Analysis, Agile BA, or an equivalent certification.
- Experience in substantial project or programme environments involving business and IT change.
- Background in regulated environments.
- Exposure to Business Architecture, Business Change, or Testing.
- Experience in regulatory programmes, data governance, or process improvement work.
- Commercial awareness within financial services or financial regulation.
