Flowserve is seeking an experienced Buyer to support its purchasing and supply chain activities in Coimbatore. The position is focused on securing subcontracted parts and services under the most favorable cost, quality, and delivery terms while aligning procurement actions with broader business and supply chain priorities.

In this role, you will contribute to purchasing strategy, help advance procurement efforts for commercial operations, and support the engineered markets approach with the aim of improving profitability and on-time delivery. You will also take ownership of the supplier portfolio and work closely with the supply team to strengthen delivery performance.

Responsibilities

• Apply just-in-time practices to ensure all materials needed for complete manufacturing of facility projects are available when required.
• Negotiate strong pricing and commercial terms to optimize component supply and improve overall profit margins.
• Assist service centers during customer quotation preparation to help secure competitive pricing and delivery commitments.
• Track purchase orders and follow through until delivery is completed for both external vendors and intercompany orders.
• Identify and address import-related issues affecting deliveries to the local service center, including coordination and problem resolution for contractual commitments.
• Establish supply agreements with strategic suppliers to obtain better pricing and more reliable delivery conditions.
• Monitor inventory and stock levels to maintain an optimal amount of material on site.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong command of purchasing methods and techniques.
• Working knowledge of technical and quality requirements relevant to purchased products.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Solid understanding of core procurement functions such as negotiation, supplier evaluation and development, supplier quality, and logistics.
• Awareness of market-specific purchasing requirements.
• Ability to negotiate strategically at a global level.
• BE in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with 2 years of relevant experience.
