Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site position in Cromwell. You will work alongside a small team of designers and project managers in the office, producing precise technical and construction drawings for timber structures. The work involves turning architectural and engineering concepts into components that can be manufactured and installed effectively.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will build and refine digital models, coordinate drawing details with project managers, engineers, and site teams, and make sure design output meets manufacturing and installation needs. You will also contribute to planning and quality assurance by checking constructability, sustainability, and compliance with applicable standards. Strong communication, accurate documentation, and a proactive approach are important to keep projects moving on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications and Experience

You should bring solid capability in technical and construction drawing preparation, with the ability to create clear documentation suitable for manufacturing and installation. Experience with Cadwork is a clear advantage. Practical knowledge of CAD and CAD/CAM processes in timber or structural construction will be valuable, as will background in design engineering, building design, structural work, or timber design. A relevant qualification in engineering, architecture, drafting, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience may also be considered.

Additional Requirements

A good understanding of modern construction methods, offsite manufacturing, and sustainable building approaches will help you succeed in this role. You should also be comfortable reading architectural and engineering drawings, solving design challenges, and working closely with people from different disciplines. High attention to detail, strong problem-solving ability, and the capacity to handle several projects and deadlines in a production-driven setting are essential.
