Cafeteria Attendant

About the Role

This full-time, non-management position sits within the Food and Beverage & Culinary area at a hotel property in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The role is centered on maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across kitchen, storage, and dishwashing support areas, while helping keep service operations organized and efficient.

Core Duties

• Run and care for cleaning tools and equipment such as the dishwashing machine, hand-wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen spaces, storage rooms, tables, utensils, knives, and other equipment.
• Accept deliveries, store perishable items correctly, and rotate inventory to maintain freshness.
• Keep clean dishware and wares stored in the proper locations.
• Use detergent, rinse, and sanitizing solutions in the three-compartment sink to wash dishes.
• Check cleaned items, stack them properly, and send anything still dirty back for another wash cycle.
• Spray rack-loaded items with hot water to loosen stuck food and remove residue.
• Separate, soak, and wash or rewash silverware as needed.
• Break down dirty bus tubs and clear waste from work areas.
• Empty trash bins and maintain the trash and dumpster area.
• Clean and mop assigned department areas.
• Dispose of broken glass in the correct containers and break down cardboard and other recyclables for collection.

• Report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.

• Maintain the expected quality standards in all tasks.
• Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds without help.
• Be prepared to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and perform bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, reaching overhead, and reaching below the knees.
• Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
