Role overview

The Certified Shipper role is based in Trenton, GA and follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The position supports shipping operations with a strong emphasis on hazardous materials compliance, inventory control, shipment inspection, data accuracy, and safe handling of goods.

Key duties

This position involves maintaining current hazardous-materials and shipping certifications, entering information accurately into systems, supporting inventory cycle counts, checking outbound shipments for correct paperwork and safe loading, and helping improve day-to-day operations and safety practices. The role also includes supporting the Senior Certified Shipping Coordinator when needed and carrying out additional duties as assigned.

Certification and compliance requirements

The job requires keeping hazardous materials credentials current, including DOT hazardous materials transportation certification, hazardous materials air shipper certification, hazardous material vessel shipper certification, and AES customs training for international shipments. The role also expects adherence to safety and quality standards and may require maintaining a commercial driver’s license to meet regulatory standards.

Experience and education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience, strong computer skills, and a positive motor vehicle record.
