Civil Engineer

Overview

An international engineering consultancy is hiring a Civil Engineer to strengthen its expanding Water Networks team. The role is based in Dublin, with opportunities also available in Galway, Cork, or Castlebar. The position sits within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and covers water and wastewater projects from early concept and feasibility work through detailed design and on-site construction support.

Project Scope

• Water and wastewater network infrastructure schemes across Ireland, ranging from €5M to €200M+.
• Pumping station and water storage projects valued at €2M to €50M+.
• Framework and capital delivery assignments for Uisce Éireann.
• Network renewal and improvement programmes in the €10M to €100M+ range.
• Climate resilience and sustainable water infrastructure initiatives.
• Cross-functional environmental and infrastructure projects nationwide.

Key Duties

• Support the design and delivery of water and wastewater network works.
• Prepare technical drawings, engineering calculations, specifications, and written reports.
• Assist with feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and contract-related documentation.
• Work alongside engineering and environmental specialists across disciplines.
• Help coordinate projects and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute at every stage of the project lifecycle, from concept design through construction support.
• Build and broaden technical expertise within water and infrastructure engineering.

Requirements

• Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in civil engineering, water, or infrastructure projects.
• Some experience or a clear interest in water network design and project delivery.
• Confidence working independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
• Familiarity with industry-standard civil engineering software is an advantage.
• Previous involvement in Irish infrastructure projects is considered beneficial.

Salary and Benefits
