Claims Associate

Role overview

This position focuses on ensuring vendor credit is processed correctly while merchandise inventory is protected through accurate handling of damaged, stolen, returned, recalled, and donated goods. The role also supports strong customer service for vendor partners, coworkers, and shoppers on the sales floor.

Key duties

• Reduce shrink by promptly scanning damaged and stolen items.
• Keep all returns activity current, including vendor return requests, recalls, required paperwork, packing, and shipping, and complete each task within company timelines.
• Process SORT and Global Donation merchandise.
• Follow safety rules at all times, including correct chemical disposal, maintaining a tidy and hazard-free claims area, and using ladders and lifting methods properly.
• Track merchandise flowing through claims and help protect company assets by following the correct process to minimize chargebacks.
• Record and monitor returns and shrink recovery results within the store.
• Stay current on company policies, standards, and systems related to damaged and recalled products, and ensure new store programs are carried out consistently.
• Follow the Return Manual, keep claims files up to date, keep chargebacks low, and prepare Vendor Return Request Forms for all claims older than 45 days.
• Complete all GM CVP tasks.
• Support the Office Support Associate and Direct Store Delivery Associate when needed.

Pay and additional notes

The starting hourly pay for this role is $18.55.

Because this position involves handling alcohol, applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
