Cleaning Operative

Role Overview

Aneurin Leisure Trust is hiring a dependable and proactive Cleaning Operative to support cleanliness standards at Parc Bryn Bach in Tredegar, Wales. This position plays an important part in ensuring the site remains safe, pleasant, and welcoming for visitors, staff, and the local community.

Compensation and Contract

This role is graded at Grade 2, SCP 2, with a full-time equivalent salary of £24,413, which works out at £12.65 per hour. The position is on an annualised hours contract and is scheduled for 12 hours per week.

Key Duties

• Keep all areas clean and presentable, including washrooms, changing facilities, offices, and shared public spaces.
• Complete day-to-day cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing.
• Clean surfaces, fittings, windows, and other frequently touched areas.
• Remove waste, empty bins, and handle rubbish and recycling in a safe manner.
• Restock cleaning materials and keep track of supply levels.
• Operate cleaning tools and chemicals safely and in accordance with COSHH and health and safety rules.
• Flag maintenance concerns, hazards, or defects without delay.
• Support room arrangements, events, and deep-cleaning tasks when needed.
• Work flexibly across varied shifts, including weekends, to help meet site requirements.

Working Pattern

This job uses an annualised hours arrangement, so your total hours are balanced across the year instead of being fixed each week. Hours will increase during busier periods such as spring and summer or when events are taking place, and reduce during quieter times. Flexibility is essential, including availability for weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
