Role overview

We are seeking a Commis I for the bakery team at Grand Millennium Al Wahda in Abu Dhabi. In this position, you will support the making and finishing of bakery products such as breads, viennoiserie, pastries, and other baked items. You will work alongside senior chefs to keep production consistent, hygienic, and visually appealing in a busy professional bakery setting.

Key duties

  • Help prepare bakery items from start to finish, including mixing, shaping, proofing, baking, and final presentation.
  • Prepare breads, rolls, croissants, pastries, and related products according to standard recipes.
  • Assist the Demi Chef de Partie and Chef de Partie with day-to-day bakery tasks.

  • Keep the bakery area and equipment clean, orderly, and ready for use.
  • Observe HACCP requirements and all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
  • Store, label, and rotate ingredients and finished items correctly using FIFO methods.
  • Use bakery equipment safely and report any issues or breakdowns promptly.
  • Support portion control efforts and help reduce food wastage.
  • Follow production timelines so bakery items are ready on schedule.
  • Provide support in coaching or guiding Commis II when needed.
  • Coordinate with the bakery team to ensure smooth daily workflow.
