- Support transaction monitoring, communications surveillance, trade surveillance, and other risk-based monitoring processes where relevant.
- Prepare compliance reports, leadership updates, regulatory submissions, and materials used for audits or examinations.
- Track regulatory changes and help evaluate how those updates may affect the business.
- Partner with teams across Legal, Risk, Operations, Technology, Finance, and front-office functions to advance compliance work.
- Keep thorough records of reviews, approvals, exceptions, escalations, and remediation actions.
- Contribute to compliance testing, risk reviews, control assessments, and internal investigations when required.
- Help with training efforts by drafting materials, monitoring completion, and identifying learning needs.
- Support improvements to processes, automation efforts, and compliance technology enhancements.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Political Science, Law, Accounting, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a closely related discipline.
- Previous internship experience in an investment bank, fintech company, broker-dealer, asset manager, payments business, consulting firm, regulator, or financial services organization.
- Genuine interest in financial markets, fintech, regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate governance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive or confidential information responsibly.
- Comfort working independently while also collaborating effectively across multiple teams.
- Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred background
- Exposure through internship work to compliance, legal, risk, operations, internal audit, financial crime, regulatory reporting, or control functions.
- Some familiarity with securities regulations, AML/KYC requirements, sanctions controls, market abuse rules, data privacy, or fintech regulatory frameworks.
- Experience using compliance platforms, surveillance systems, case management tools, CRM tools, or data analytics software.
