Overview
The Custodian is responsible for keeping assigned office and facility spaces clean, orderly, and in good condition at OWA Parks & Resort in Atmore, AL.
Reporting Line
This role reports directly to the Custodial Supervisor.
Key Duties
- Clean, sweep, vacuum, and mop floors in restrooms, employee areas, public spaces, and offices.
- Remove dust from low and high surfaces and wipe down a variety of fixtures and surfaces.
- Wash blinds and reinstall them after cleaning.
- Use the proper cleaning tools and products safely and appropriately for each task.
- Collect and dispose of unwanted materials and trash in the designated disposal areas.
- Set up furniture and equipment for special events when needed.
- Help maintain a safe and healthy environment throughout the property.
- Keep a professional appearance while on duty.
- Coordinate with the Grounds Team when support is required.
- Carry out additional tasks assigned by the relevant supervisor or staff member.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- At least 2 years of verifiable experience in a related role is required.
- The ideal candidate should be organized, dependable, and responsible.
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs regularly, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, bend, and lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to manage several tasks and decide what needs attention first.
- Must be able to understand and follow both spoken and written directions.
- Should be capable of performing all duties of the position successfully.
- A valid state driver’s license is required.
- Must comply with all other rules and standards set out in the CIE Personnel Policies and Procedures.
