Role overview
Winaxis LLC is seeking a Data Analyst to strengthen its data team in Boston, MA. The position focuses on maintaining core datasets, producing accurate reporting, and resolving data-related problems. Success in this role depends on strong attention to detail, hands-on data analysis experience, and solid knowledge of widely used analytics tools and database systems.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the master data repository, including adding, updating, and removing records as needed.
- Administer user access and role assignments.
- Check imported data for quality issues and coordinate with quality assurance analysts when required.
- Commission and retire datasets in line with operational needs.
- Handle confidential information and data in accordance with established guidelines.
- Support the creation of reports and analytical outputs.
- Manage and shape the reporting environment, covering data sources, security controls, and metadata.
- Assist the data warehouse team in refining reporting needs.
- Support data integrity and normalization initiatives.
- Review testing outcomes and help implement new or upgraded software, contributing to decisions on new systems.
- Create reports from one or multiple systems.
- Investigate issues in the reporting database environment and the reports themselves.
- Assess updates or modifications in source production systems.
- Train end users on new dashboards and reports.
- Offer technical support related to data storage design, data mining, and data cleansing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in computer science.
- Prior work experience in a data analyst role or a closely related position.
- Capability to work with stakeholders and evaluate possible risks.
- Ability to review existing tools and databases and suggest software-based solutions.
- Skill in converting business needs into clear, non-technical language.
- Strong experience with large-scale database management methods and processes.
- Proven background in working with large datasets and relational databases.
- Understanding of addressing standards and metadata standards.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
