Role Summary

This contract role is for a Data Analyst supporting banking and post-trade monitoring activities in Singapore. The position focuses on exception review, data analysis, regulatory support, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to turn business needs into practical analytical outputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Review daily, weekly, and recurring exceptions identified through post-trade monitoring processes.
• Work closely with teams across business, technology, and operations to resolve analytical and monitoring needs.
• Convert business requirements into clear and workable analytical solutions.
• Present findings and recommendations in a way that is understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Follow established data governance, compliance, and quality standards throughout the work.
• Track data quality issues and put validation checks in place where needed.
• Assist with audit-related and regulatory obligations when required.
• Carry out exploratory analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and unusual activity.
• Use statistical methods and analytical models to generate meaningful insights.
• Handle ad-hoc analytical requests that support business questions and initiatives.

Requirements

• A degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or a closely related field is required.
• About 2 to 4 years of experience in financial services or trading-related environments is expected.
• Prior exposure to post-trade monitoring workflows is preferred.
• Experience with regulatory reporting expectations is needed.
• Basic capability in statistical analysis, data mining, machine learning, and handling large datasets is required.
• Working knowledge of analytics tools and platforms such as SAS, SQL, Python, and R is expected.
• Understanding of data governance, compliance, and quality standards is important.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with close attention to detail, is necessary.
• The ability to explain insights clearly to different types of audiences is essential.
