Role overview
This contract position is for a Data Scientist working remotely in Canada. The role focuses on using strong analytical and statistical expertise to support the training of advanced AI systems. Rather than requiring prior AI-specific experience, the position values solid domain knowledge and the ability to produce high-quality, real-world input that helps improve how models learn, reason, and perform.
What you will do
- Gather, prepare, cleanse, and preprocess varied datasets so they are accurate and ready for analysis.
- Build, assess, and apply statistical models to turn complex information into practical business insights.
- Perform exploratory analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Create clear visualizations and reports that communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work with teammates to plan and deliver data projects end to end, from concept through execution.
- Refine analytical approaches and automate parts of the workflow to make data processes more efficient.
- Share recommendations clearly in spoken and written form, ensuring the message is precise and actionable.
What we are looking for
- Strong grounding in statistics, mathematics, and data analysis methods.
- Hands-on experience working with large and complex datasets, including collection, cleaning, and management.
- Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, or similar tools used for data manipulation and modeling.
- Solid capability in data modeling and in developing and validating predictive models.
- Ability to build data visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or comparable libraries.
- Careful attention to detail and a strong focus on data accuracy and quality.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain findings clearly and precisely.
- Prior experience in AI is not required for this role.
Preferred background
- Experience working with remote, cross-functional, or customer-oriented teams.
