About the Role
Horizon Family Brands is seeking a Demand Planner to develop and improve demand forecasts using inputs from sales, marketing, finance, and other business functions. This position owns the upkeep and ongoing enhancement of both summarized and detailed demand plans, while partnering closely with Sales and Operations Planning teams to support production, inventory, and service decisions.
The role is based in Broomfield, Colorado, and follows a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain demand forecasts using historical sales performance, market movements, and seasonal patterns.
- Protect the accuracy and integrity of demand planning data within company systems and tools.
- Bring together forecast inputs from sales, marketing, finance, and other stakeholders.
- Support creation of new finished-goods item codes.
- Manage demand plans across multiple levels of detail and different planning horizons.
- Run weekly and monthly forecast review sessions.
- Share forecast revisions and estimated volume effects with the right teams.
- Facilitate alignment discussions between marketing and sales and contribute to broader demand review forums.
- Keep supply planning partners updated on demand changes that could affect production planning.
- Track market trends, launches, and shifts in customer demand.
- Review forecast accuracy and bias, then recommend actions to improve results.
- Own demand-planning KPIs and related reporting.
- Help maintain master data quality in the planning system.
- Use Power BI tools to examine data and surface insights.
- Support forecasting for new products and phase-in/phase-out planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, statistics, finance, engineering, or a similar field is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or another relevant area.
- Experience with demand planning systems; SAP APO exposure is preferred.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of go-to-market and sales strategies.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and reasoning ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exposure to Sales & Operations Planning and related internal/external collaboration processes.
- Ability to work toward consensus through effective communication and collaboration.
- Prior experience supporting consumer-packaged goods suppliers serving mass-merchant retailers is preferred.
- Knowledge of statistical forecasting methods and demand modeling is an advantage.
- Highly organized and detail-focused.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-moving environment.
Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $75,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
Additional Information
This position is a full-time onsite role with a hybrid arrangement of 3 days in the office in Broomfield, CO.
