Role overview
This is an opportunity for a creative, commercially aware designer to join a growing and collaborative team in Northampton. The role is well suited to someone stepping up from a junior design position or a designer with some prior experience who wants to strengthen their skills in a supportive, high-performing setting.

Location and working hours
Northampton, Northamptonshire. The office is located in Northampton and the successful candidate must be able to drive to the site.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Salary
The pay range for this role is £26,000 to £30,000 per year, depending on design experience.
What the role involves
In this position, you will work closely with internal sales and support teams to convert client requirements into practical and imaginative design outcomes. The role combines creativity, technical drawing, and commercial input.
Responsibilities
- Analyse client briefs and turn them into original, engaging design ideas
- Create precise 2D AutoCAD drawings and visual layout concepts
- Calculate design proposals using a dedicated CRM project management system
- Prepare polished tender submissions and proposal documents
- Draft technical specifications to assist installation and delivery teams
- Contribute to marketing collateral and product literature development
Requirements
- A positive, proactive mindset with a practical, solution-oriented approach
- A strong eye for design paired with a high level of accuracy
- Comfort working independently while also collaborating effectively with others
- Previous CAD experience, ideally with AutoCAD; training can be provided if needed
- Good numerical ability, especially for preparing quotations and costing work
- Adaptability and flexibility in a busy, fast-changing environment
