Role Overview
The Supply Planning Director will be accountable for the full supply planning process across the company’s brand portfolio, with a focus on product availability, efficient inventory levels, and strong operational execution. The position connects demand planning, inventory control, and cross-functional coordination, serving as a key partner to sales, operations, procurement, and manufacturing teams.
The role calls for a highly analytical and disciplined supply chain professional who can convert commercial forecasts into workable supply plans, account for production capacity and lead times, and manage complexity across multiple brands and SKUs while balancing immediate needs with long-term planning discipline.
Responsibilities
- Build, update, and run supply plans across all brands and SKUs so products are available on time and inventory remains at appropriate levels.
- Turn S&OP demand forecasts into executable production plans that reflect capacity limits and lead-time requirements.
- Track and manage key inventory measures such as days of supply, fill rate, and inventory turns, then flag risks and improvement opportunities to leadership.
- Work with co-manufacturing partners and procurement teams to coordinate production timing, material readiness, and inbound supply reliability.
- Own supply exception handling by spotting shortages, excess stock, and disruptions early and driving resolution with both internal teams and external partners.
- Keep the planning system current and improve data quality and planning settings such as lead times, safety stock, minimum order quantities, and reorder points.
- Partner with sales, finance, marketing, and operations to align supply plans with launches, promotions, seasonal demand, and broader business priorities.
- Support new product introductions by creating ramp-up plans, coordinating with manufacturing partners, and helping ensure launch readiness.
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports that measure plan adherence, inventory health, and service performance, and share insights across the organization.
- Contribute supply-side inputs to the monthly S&OP cycle and help resolve supply constraints against demand requirements.
- Stay informed on supply chain methods, tools, and industry trends, then apply relevant improvements to the planning process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related discipline is required.
- At least 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in supply planning or demand/supply chain work, ideally in CPG, food and beverage, or consumer products.
- Proven responsibility for supply plan execution, inventory control, service levels, and production scheduling.
- Practical experience with supply planning software and ERP platforms such as Atlas, SAP, or NetSuite; exposure to advanced planning tools like o9, Kinaxis, or Blue Yonder is a plus.
- Experience managing a team and coordinating with stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Strong analytical ability to work through complex data and convert findings into supply decisions and process improvements.
- Solid understanding of S&OP, co-manufacturing operations, and multi-tier supply chain structures.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting while handling multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong collaboration skills with experience working alongside sales, finance, operations, and external manufacturing partners.
- Advanced Excel skills are required; familiarity with Tableau or Power BI is preferred.
