Princess Polly is a globally recognized fashion brand dedicated to offering trend-driven, lower-impact, and accessible apparel. Founded in Australia in 2010, the brand rapidly gained popularity through social media and celebrity endorsements, becoming a staple in online fashion. As one of the fastest-growing women's fashion brands in the USA, Princess Polly has been providing an exceptional online shopping experience for over a decade. As part of A.K.A Brands, with offices in Los Angeles and Australia, we are expanding and seeking motivated, fashion-obsessed individuals to join our team.
Our mission is to create trend-forward retail spaces that embody our iconic aesthetic, making them effortlessly shoppable and highly engaging. We are looking for creative individuals with a passion for fashion and a keen eye for curating bold, on-trend looks. The District Visual Manager will play a crucial role in bringing the Princess Polly brand experience to life in our retail stores.
Position Summary
The District Visual Manager, based in New York City, will be responsible for traveling to Princess Polly retail locations primarily on the East Coast, and potentially the West Coast, to style 25-40 mannequins per store. The goal is to create visually appealing, on-brand looks that reflect current trends and drive sales. This role requires adapting styling to each store's inventory while maintaining brand consistency. Reporting to the Senior Visual Merchandising Manager, the District Visual Manager will ensure that visual merchandising strategies align with high-level brand objectives and contribute to sales growth.
Responsibilities
- Travel extensively (approximately 75% of the time) to East Coast retail locations, with potential for West Coast travel, to ensure all mannequin styling adheres to seasonal trends and visual directives.
- Implement and maintain company-wide visual merchandising standards across various store locations.
- Conduct monthly in-store styling workshops for retail teams, focusing on trend education, building styling confidence, and effective product storytelling.
- Develop and distribute clear, actionable guides and directives for mannequin styling to ensure consistent execution across all stores.
- Oversee floor set implementation, window display installations, mannequin styling, and product placement strategies.
- Collaborate with Buying and Planning teams to highlight best-selling items and strategically position new inventory, repeat bestsellers, and top trends on mannequins.
- Report directly to the Senior Visual Merchandising Manager, ensuring styling approaches align with overarching brand strategy and business objectives.
- Analyze sales data and product flow to optimize mannequin presentations and drive sell-through, implementing strategic merchandising to support product performance.
- Regularly assess mannequin displays, making necessary adjustments and providing direct feedback to stores based on product movement and location-specific requirements.
- Provide visual merchandising leadership and support for store openings, resets, and seasonal transitions, ensuring impactful presentations.
- Train in-store staff on mannequin styling standards, visual merchandising principles, and any updates to directives.
Commercial and Education Requirements
- Possess 2-5 years of progressive experience in visual merchandising, with a background that includes both store-level execution and regional or corporate oversight, demonstrating expertise in managing visual programs across multiple locations.
- Present a strong styling portfolio that reflects Princess Polly's aesthetic: trend-forward, effortless, youthful, and bold.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of current fashion trends, retail sales cycles, and consumer purchasing behaviors.
- Exhibit the ability to translate sales data and inventory levels into effective styling strategies that boost revenue.
- Have experience using digital asset libraries and adhering to visual guidelines and training materials.
- Show a deep comprehension of visual merchandising principles, brand standards, and retail customer psychology, with experience in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and executing seasonal campaigns across diverse store formats.
- Be comfortable with frequent travel and working independently in a dynamic, multi-store retail environment.
- Possess excellent communication, organizational, and time management capabilities.
- Hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel by air or road as needed.
