Role Overview
This Duty Manager position is based in County Waterford and involves leading a warehouse team to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. The role focuses on accurate stock movement, efficient order processing, and maintaining high standards across the site. It is well suited to a practical leader who pays close attention to detail and is committed to operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee day-to-day warehouse activity so that picking, packing, and dispatch are completed correctly and on time.
- Guide, support, and develop warehouse colleagues to build a motivated and effective team.
- Keep stock levels under control and work with the team to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Promote and enforce safe working practices, making sure health and safety rules are followed at all times.
- Work closely with delivery teams to support efficient and timely logistics operations.
- Look for ways to improve processes and raise productivity across the warehouse.
- Receive deliveries and ensure stock is stored and organised correctly.
- Keep the warehouse clean, tidy, and arranged in a way that supports both safety and efficiency.
- Use warehouse management systems to monitor tasks, record activity, and track performance measures.
- Coordinate with branch and area management so warehouse operations support wider business objectives.
Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will be confident leading a warehouse team and able to build strong working relationships with both colleagues and customers. You should be comfortable handling recruitment-related tasks, understanding stock booking in and out, and working with profit and loss information. A strong approach to health and safety, together with the ability to coach, challenge, and help others improve, is important for success in this role.
