Role overview

This position is for an Engineer Planning Electrical within Engineering Planning, operating under the Asset Operations value stream and the Manufacturing job family. The role is centered on coordinating plant maintenance planning with Central Planning, Reliability, Plant Maintenance, and Process/Operations teams to ensure work is organized, prioritized, and executed effectively.

Purpose of the role

The main objective of this role is to create and manage maintenance plans for the plant, ensuring that routine, preventive, predictive, shutdown, and unplanned work are aligned with operational needs and resource availability.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Central Planning, Reliability, Plant Maintenance, and Process/Operations to plan and schedule all maintenance work at the plant.
  • Arrange the required resources, including manpower, materials, services, pooled assets, and other support needed to execute maintenance jobs.
  • Apply a risk-based approach while planning routine maintenance activities.
  • Prepare and circulate daily and weekly maintenance schedules in consultation with Process/Operations, while also managing the maintenance backlog.
  • Build the REAM annual plan and budget for the plant in consultation with maintenance and other relevant functions.
  • Maintain a multi-year maintenance plan for the plant.
  • Coordinate PM/PdM and changeover schedules with Central Planning, Process/Operations, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams.
  • Adjust plans and schedules when resource limitations or emergency/unplanned jobs require changes.
  • Work with Central Planning to keep central and plant-level maintenance plans aligned.
  • Monitor and push the closure of recommendations arising from RCA, incident investigations, APM reviews, audits, and similar activities.
  • Review daily LLF reports, maintenance logs, and process log books to identify additional work requirements.
  • Perform inventory modelling and periodically review plant-specific MRO stock levels.
  • Track spare parts and inventory status regularly and initiate required corrective actions.
  • Support reliability teams by sharing inputs on maintenance strategies and plans to improve reliability and optimize maintenance effort.
  • Implement work order and related processes/systems in CMMS and oversee their use.
  • Keep the job list updated in CMMS or other systems for non-shutdown, opportunity shutdown, and shutdown activities.
  • Prepare, own, and publish MIS reports, KPIs, and maintenance dashboards for the plant, and share inputs with Central Maintenance.
  • Assess the effectiveness of maintenance planning and scheduling at the plant and recommend improvements.
  • Assist Central Maintenance with turnaround and shutdown planning as well as execution tracking.
  • Implement and manage master data and technical object management at the plant.
