About the Role

In this role, you’ll handle maintenance and handyman work across Kohl’s store locations, helping keep stores aligned with brand and facility standards. You’ll work to budget, coordinate clearly with both internal and external contacts, and complete tasks with a strong focus on quality and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Finish assigned work orders accurately and within the expected timeframe.
  • Keep the tools and materials needed for daily work available and in good condition; the company supplies all required tools.
  • Carry out interior repair and maintenance work, especially on doors and plumbing items such as faucets, toilets, and water heaters.
  • Complete electrical and lighting fixes inside the store, including lamp/ballast replacement and minor outlet repairs.
  • Perform flooring, carpet, tile, patching, painting, carpentry, laminate, wallpaper, and fixture/equipment repair tasks.
  • Manage exterior building upkeep, including low-height repairs, building and curb/ramp painting, power washing, and minor common-area repairs.
  • Support store housekeeping efforts by helping teams and cleaning vendors identify issues and improve cleanliness visibility in stores.
  • Share safety and cleanliness concerns, along with plans to resolve them.
  • Spot interior and exterior maintenance issues that must be handled by outside vendors and log them in the web-based facilities management system for follow-up.
  • Provide regular visit summaries to the Territory Facilities Manager and/or Store and District Managers, including accomplishments, opportunities, and resolved issues.
  • Take on other duties as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

This position calls for someone who can work on their own, communicate clearly in speaking and writing, and use Microsoft Word and Excel comfortably. You should be able to navigate websites, learn new computer systems, and work with smartphones as part of the job.
