The organization emphasizes career growth, learning, mentoring, and work-life balance, offering employees the opportunity to build both personal and professional development from the outset.

Role summary

The Financial & Operational Audit Manager will own the planning, leadership, and delivery of end-to-end audits covering financial controls, operational processes, and compliance activities across business units. The role requires ensuring that all audit work follows internal audit standards and company policies, while focusing on risk identification, control evaluation, and practical improvement recommendations.

This position also involves managing audit teams, working closely with senior leaders, and helping strengthen governance, accountability, and internal control effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and update the annual internal audit plan using a risk-based methodology.
  • Assess major financial and operational risks and ensure audits adequately cover key business areas.
  • Carry out early risk reviews and discussions with stakeholders to define audit scope and priorities.
  • Work with the GCAE and senior audit leadership to align audit activities with business strategy.
  • Oversee the full audit cycle, including planning, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up actions.
  • Lead audits across finance, procurement, revenue assurance, asset management, HR operations, and commercial functions.
  • Ensure audit work complies with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IIA) and internal audit procedures.
  • Review working papers, testing evidence, and draft reports for completeness, accuracy, and clarity.
  • Assess processes and controls to identify weaknesses, inefficiencies, and compliance gaps.
  • Prepare and deliver clear audit reports with findings, root causes, business impact, and actionable recommendations.
  • Discuss audit results with senior management and agree on remediation plans and deadlines.
  • Monitor implementation of audit actions and escalate overdue or non-compliant items when needed.
  • Maintain open and timely communication with stakeholders throughout each engagement.
  • Advise management on process improvement, risk reduction, and better control design.
  • Help develop internal control frameworks and compliance-related policies.
  • Support teams preparing for external audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Join cross-functional committees or projects as an internal control expert when required.
  • Lead, coach, and support internal auditors through feedback, mentoring, and technical direction.
  • Promote a collaborative, high-performing audit environment.
  • Contribute to internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen team capability.
  • Stay current on audit, risk, and regulatory developments affecting the business.
  • Drive improvements in audit methods, tools, templates, and workflow efficiency.
  • Ensure quality standards are upheld across all audit assignments.

Experience and qualifications

The role calls for 8–10 years of progressive internal audit experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity. A strong understanding of internal control frameworks such as COSO, internal audit standards, and risk management practices is required. Experience in telecom, technology, or similarly large corporate settings is preferred. Familiarity with ERP platforms such as Oracle or SAP, along with data analytics tools, is an added advantage.

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required, along with one of the following professional certifications: CIA, CPA, ACCA, or CISA.
